Default Growing for Farmers' Markets

I love going to our local Farmers' Market. Meeting the people who grow our food, chatting with them about their methods and their upcoming plans is a vital way to feel connected to a deep part of our world--EATING!

In our community two of our local farmers just planted small fruit orchards this past winter--barely one acre each. Once I heard about them, I made it a point to drive by and watch the progress of their new "baby" trees. We live in the mountains, so I wondered how things would go. At first they were just little sticks in the ground. Now they have already matured into lovely "teenager" trees. I'm looking forward to the day that I can buy peaches from these two dedicated farmers. And since I've developed a relationship with my own personal farmers , maybe they will let me walk among those trees!

I'd love to hear what other readers have to say about their local Farmers' Markets.
